This Zohar tells us that after the Shabbat is over, an EVIL DESTRUCTIVE FORCE rises up from SHEOL (the sixth level of Hell - out of seven) and wants to rule over us and thereby disrupt our lives especially for the coming week. Reciting the Havdala sends this EVIL DESTRUCTIVE FORCE back to whence it came.
It is equally important NOT to light any fire before the end the SABBATH in order NOT to start the FIRES OF HELL too early and cause unduly harm. Always after RABBENU TAM time to end the SABBAT which is 72 minutes after SUNSET.
